Destini Appoints Former MRT Corp Chief Shahril Mokhtar As Group MD

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 6): Destini Bhd (KL:DESTINI) has redesignated Datuk Seri Dr Shahril Mokhtar as its new group managing director, just a month after the former MRT Corp CEO joined the engineering group’s board as an executive director.

The redesignation takes effect immediately, according to Destini’s bourse filing on Tuesday. Shahril, 54, was appointed as an executive director on Dec 4, 2025.

Besides his tenure with MRT Corp, Shahril was the group managing director of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.

He has also held executive and directorship roles in several companies, including listed firms such as CSH Alliance Bhd, now known as Velocity Capital Partner Bhd (KL:VELOCITY), Green Packet Bhd (KL:GPACKET), and Taghill Holdings Bhd (KL:TAGHILL).

He currently also sits on the boards of West River Bhd (KL:WESTRVR) and EVD Bhd (KL:EVD).

Shares in Destini ended 1.5 sen or 5.08% higher at 31 sen, valuing the company at RM170.18 million.
